Stuff You May Have Missed #3

– HBO have released a new trailer for the upcoming 8-episode drama True Detective, starring Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey. True Detective revolves around the lives of two detectives during a seventeen-year hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana, and all episodes will be directed by Cary Fukunaga. The show looks completely gorgeous and we’re very excited to see the first episode, which airs on Showcase on Monday 13th January, 6:30pm.

– Marvel has announced that their new one-shot will be attached to the DVD and Blu-Ray release of Thor: The Dark World, due to hit shelves late February/early March. The plot of the one-shot, titled ‘ALL HAIL THE KING‘, is yet to be announced, though going by the ending of Thor: The Dark World and the one-shot’s title, one can only assume that it is about our favourite super villain Loki. We previously reported, however, on rumours that the Mandarin was to be the centre of the upcoming one-shot. Loki VS. Trevor Slattery?

– Marvel have released more stills of the upcoming Captain America: The Winter Soldier flick. Take a look at them in the gallery below. Captain America: The Winter Soldier will be released on Australian screens April 3rd, 2014.

Empire Magazine and Scott Free Productions have released the first official image of Christian Bale in Ridley Scott’s upcoming biblical epic Exodus. Christian Bale is playing Moses and Joel Edgerton is playing Rhamses. Also starring in the film are Sigourney Weaver, Aaron Paul and Ben Kinglsey.
Exodus is set to be released at the end of 2014.

– The team behind The Amazing Spiderman 2 released a video of Jamie Foxx‘s Electro destroying Times Square, plus a little of Paul Giamatti‘s Rhino, the Green Goblin and a lot more special effects. Personally, I’m a little hesitant for this sequel, I was really looking forward to a darker, grittier Spiderman which we sort-of got in the first film. I agree, whole-heartedly,  with this video here which talks a lot about the film’s originally advertised ‘Untold Story’ of Spiderman that didn’t deliver.
The Amazing Spiderman 2 better deliver, or the sequel will probably be the last one I watch.
